Antec Dark Fleet DF-35 Mid Tower Case Review
Earlier this year Antec announced its Dark Fleet case series. It included four different cases,

Antec DF-35 Dark Fleet Computer Case
This case was disappointing in some ways, and rather nice in others. I'll cover the disappointing stuff first: building a system in the Antec DF-35 was more trouble than I expected in a $140.00 case, maily due to the lack of cable management and the unnecessarily complex operation to remove the front bezel. Some aspects of the case, like the lack of power supply ventilation holes, cable management, and punch-out card slot covers, are things I'd be surprised to see in a case costing half as much. And the competition in the $150-and-under case segment is fierce: for example, thecosts $89.99 at Newegg and has cable management, toolless mounting for 3.5" and 5.25" devices, a hot-swap SATA bay on the top of the case that can accomodate 3.5" and 2.5" devices, screw-down card slot covers, and (filtered!) ventilation for the power supply. Forgoing a few of these fancier features can land you in any of a number of sub-$80 NZXT cases that still offer better "basic features" than the DF-35. This makes the Antec DF-35 a hard sell at its price.Once I had finished building the system, though, things looked up a little. The case's appearance is handsome and the white LED lit fans add a nice visual touch. The fans themselves were impressive, too, moving a lot of air with very little noise. Turning all four fans to maximum resulted only in a muted whooshing noise; turning them all down to minimum made the system almost inaudible. This case should easily provide enough ventilation to host a high-performance SLI or CrossfireX system. I never was able to get the cabling as neat as I wanted and would prefer a non-windowed version of the case for this reason.Any case manufacturer will have a budget, and Antec obviously thought that features like the SATA backplanes, fancy fans, and swing-out access panels on the front of the case merited the lion's share of the cost of the case. But even some of the extra features seem incompletely implemented: for example, what's the point of easy front access to drives that plug into a SATA backplane when the drives are held in by screws and you have to take off the side panel to add or remove drives?Extra features are nice, but I think that the "basic" features should take precedence. I would have fewer complaints about the DF-35 were it priced at $99.95 or less, but at $140, it's competing with some very nice cases, most of which make building a system a lot easier.Antec owns the bulk of the market share for computer cases, and with good reason: their cases historically offer high construction quality, compelling features, and competitive prices. The DF-35, however, seems remiss in each of these categories. With just a little extra effort on Antec's part? primarily punching a few extra holes in strategically-located spots? this could be a great case, with functionality to match its looks.Clunky construction process aside, the performance of this case was very good. The cooling is excellent and should serve owners of hot, high-performance hardware well. Providing each fan with its own controller is a nice feature, although it was done by using specialized, Antec-only fans with integrated controllers.I found the appearance of the case appealing. Antec was obviously trying to ramp things up a bit over the more pedestrian "Hundred" series, and they've succeeded. The construction quality, on the other hand, wasn't as good as it should be for a case of this class. The sloppy fit of the side panels and the number of screws securing the front bezel (6 of which were self-tapping screws into plastic, which will limit the number of times they can be effectively secured) count against the DF-35. And I still hate the punch-out card slot covers.Functionally, the case performed well. Having an integrated 3.5" externally-accessible device bay is a feature I wish more cases had; the 2.5" drive mount at the bottom of the chassis in an inexpensive and elegant solution. On the other hand, having to manually move a snap-down trim piece every time you need to access your optical drive will get old pretty quickly. The value? Sorry, that's where this case fails. Selling forat NewEgg, this case sacrifices too many basic features for the less-basic ones it has. Antec die-hards may overlook these issues, but cost-conscious shoppers know they have other options.Pros:+ Sleek, semi-military appearance+ Excellent cooling with quiet, high-quality fans with individual controllers+ Room for three 5.25" devices and six 3.5" drives, along with a 3.5" externally-accessible device+ External SATA bay for 2.5" notebook drives or SSDsCons:- High price- Lack of basic features such as cable management- No manual?- Trim pieces impede access to 5.25" devices- SATA backplane convenience obviated by screw-in drive mountingRatings:Questions? Antec Three Hundred Case Review
Antec Three Hundred is an inexpensive mini-tower case targeted to exigent users. Here is a summary of what we found about this case..
Antec Three Hundred is a mini-tower case for users demanding a small yet powerful case, featuring three 5 ¼? bays, six internal 3 ½? bays and two fans with individual speed control.

Antec Three Hundred
It's not every day that we come across a case that is designed to be compact and portable, yet still delivers many of the features found on bigger, heavier, more expensive cases. While we're on the subject of cost, the Three Hundred is available for an extremely reasonable $69.95(US), which is considerably less than its slightly bigger brother, the Antec Nine Hundred, at $119.99. Antec has scored with the Three Hundred. Though not a true side by side comparison, I can tell you that I own both the Three Hundred and Nine Hundred and have been very pleased with both. While the Nine Hundred is able to cut another few degrees off of the temps seen with the Three Hundred, I think the slightly smaller size of the latter appeals to many consumers. I have owned several cases that just weren't well constructed, with components made of flimsy materials to parts that don't fit quite right, but I've never run into any problems with Antec enclosures. The one other feature that I really like on the Nine Hundred and miss on the Three Hundred is the clear side panel. This is a case that is designed to be light enough to be portable for say, a LAN party, but you can't show off your gear! The biggest problem that I've experienced with the Three Hundred is the limiting factor of the smaller space. I had to remove my CPU fan and turn it 90 degrees to exhaust through the top fan instead of the rear, which places it directly over my MOSFET heat sinks on the motherboard. Not a huge deal, but just one of the quirks of trying to squeeze everything into a smaller space. If you plan on liquid cooling, I wouldn't recommend it with this case, as it's just not designed for it. There is no place to put a pump, an internal radiator, or a way to run tubing from the outside. Lastly, if you are using a long video card it will fit, but it will be tight and will most likely limit the number of hard drives you can use. + Portable size+ Built-in filtration system + Extremely affordable + Solid construction+ Fit and finish is excellent+ Built-in cable management system - Cramped inside, some CPU coolers may not fit- Very plain Gamer case, no LED's, no clear side panel- Fans are quite noisy at high speed, tolerable at medium- Only includes exhaust fans, at least one intake, preferably two would have been a nice addition All in all I was very pleased with the Antec Three Hundred. I have given it the following scores: Performance: 8/10 Value: 9/10 Aesthetics: 8.5/10 Resulting in an overall score of 8.5/10 and earning the Bjorn3D Seal of Approval!
Today we look at another entry from Antec in to the world of Mid-tower ATX cases. The 'Three Hundred' is the smallest product belonging to the "Gamer" series of cases from Antec. [

Antec Three Hundred
We find ourselves wondering how a company like NZXT can do a better job of creating a budget version of Antec?s gamer line than Antec itself. That?s not to say the Three Hundred is a bad case; it just has little that?s special.

PCFormat: Antec Fusion chassis
Marking a departure from its previous HTPC efforts, Antec has finally produced a case that doesn't scream 'I'm a PC!' quite so loudly. However, if you did have any intentions of hiding the fact that there's a PC hanging out with your hi-fi, you're out of luck, thanks to the exposed USB and audio ports. There's unfortunately no remote control in this package, but at least when you do get up off the sofa to adjust the volume it's a pleasant experience thanks to the pleasingly tactile amplifier dial.Antec's reasons for only supporting MicroATX boards in this chassis become clear when you look at the superbly planned interior; each component has its own section, meaning that while the bundled PSU isn't modular, excess cables are confined tidily to a partition. What makes the Fusion stand out is the attention to detail. The chassis is solid steel; sharp edges are rounded off, and Antec's used white activity LEDs, a welcome departure from the clichéd blue. The case is supplied with dual variable-speed 120mm fans, able to push more air at slower speeds, and covers for unused fan mounts. This allows for a wide choice of cooling combinations. Drive bays are removable and mounted using vibration-eliminating silicone spacers, and reusable cable ties come pre-fitted. All this makes the case a pleasure to build in, and it wasn't long before our system was humming away quietly. At their lowest speed, the fans and power supply were barely audible from more than a metre away, and the hard drive dampers stopped drive-graunch. Stepping up the speed increased the volume, but even at full speed the Antec was quiet, fitting in perfectly with our Hi-Fi system. James De Vile

Antec Atlas Server Case Review
The Atlas may be marketed as a Quiet mini server case but this smaller profile makes it an ideal candidate for any mid tower setup. It is both smaller and more light weight than the Titan 550 but maintains the same sharp black look. The change over from my old server case went quickly thanks to the easy access drive setup and the TruePower 2.0 power supply easily replaces my old 350W clunker. Antec may have packed the bells and whistles into their but the amount of case for the money in the Atlas makes it an easy choice for smaller server builds and performance PC builds alike. Tired of having to take all the lights and windows at the expense of quality, the Atlas has your number.

Antec Sonata III
The third incarnation of the original Sonata maintains the goods of the original Sonata. Antec has not made too many changes from the original design and it is understandable as the original Sonata has some of the best features in a computer case. The rail systems and the 90 degree hard drive mounting mechanism are still with the Sonata III. Antec was among the first to implement these features in the original Sonata and now these features have become a standard in the industry. Antec has spiced up the front connectors of the Sonata III to include eSATA but in doing so, they have removed the Firewire port. Also, the power supply has also been updated to support ever demanding system components, and the rear fan has been updated with adjustable fan speed. It?s nice to see these updates. If you are a fan of the original Sonata, you sure will love this case and the the upgrades will definitely make this case a great choice for those who need a case with a good quality power supply but don't expect it to run your quad core with 8800GTX SLI (or HD 2900 XT crossfire as the power supply does not come with 8 pin PCI-E). The Sonata is a well-crafted case for keeping the system running cool and noise level down. Although I am slightly disappointed to find the power supply cables are not sleeved, the fan controller is not routed to the outside of the case, and the absence of firewire connector, the Sonata III is still a good case in both functionality and aesthetics. At retail price of $139.95 over at Newegg, the Sonata III is slightly expensive comparing to other mid-tower cases but considering the updated connectors and a decent quality power supply, it is too bad. Furthermore, you can't forget about the three year warranty which Antec includes with their products. The Sonata III seems to be targeted at mainstream users or light gamers who need a classic and elegent look and do not care about the flashy window. The HTPC users would enjoy the highly reflective and quietness of the case. I love the original Sonata case and I am glad to see that Antec has not made too much changes. I do have to admit that although I like the Sonata's design; however, it's a slightly let down to find that Antec has not bring any innovation to this case as I would love to see slightly more changes. Then again, maybe it's good to leave good things the way they are. The Sonata III will receive a score of 8 (very good) out of 10 for the function and aesthetics. It will also receive Bjorn3D's Seal of Approval. + Sleek look+ Plenty of front panel connectors: 2 USB, a headphone, a microphone, and an eSATA+ Easy Installation+ A 120 mm TriCool fan with adjustable setting included+ Fan filters+ Noise-dampening rails+ Well-constructed with no sharp edges+ A decent 500W, 80% efficiency PSU+ Quiet - Price- PSU may not be strong enough for high end system- Fan controller is inside the case- No firewire on the front panel connector- Fan makes rattling noise if not positioned right- Front connectors are not covered- No cable management
The third incarnation of Antec maintains the same looks as the first generation. What has changed is the power supply has been upgraded to EarthWatt 500W and the front panel is now including the eSATA. If you are a fan of the original Sonata, you sure will love this case and the the upgrades will definitely make this case a great choice for those who need a case with a good quality power supply. [

Antec Fusion Remote Max
Building a HTPC was finally able to get me into my living room for once. The Fusion Remote Max's size makes it possible to build a HTPC that is capable of doing more than just playing old reruns. With the 8800GTS we had installed into ours a few matches of Left 4 Dead, TF2, and COD4 where possible. In fact it's amazing to play some of the best PC games in 1080p. With the capability to run two 280's in SLU or two 4870 X2's in crossfire, this case has the possibility of being way more than a HTPC. Aside from the size, the included remote was one of the best parts of the case. Of course it's not without faults, the LCD screen has very little contrast. It was bad enough to the point where I could hardly read it. Even with that fault, the case turned out to be amazing. Having A HTPC spoiled me, and I could not ask for a better first impression than Antec's Fusion Remote Max. In addition, House M.D. hooked me also; I have already watched all of the episodes up until this season.
With the computer becoming almost a requirement people are spending more and more time in their office and less time in their living room. My household is a great example of this, between work on websites, reviews, and games I find myself on my computer most of the day. We have a 52-inch 1080p TV along with countless console games and I almost never end up in the living room. For the past two years I have not had cable or satellite, instead I have found my shows online. Apparently, I am not the only one who does this; HTPC's (Home Theater PC) have recently started to become popular. With the ability to get online or watch downloaded movies and shows, it is no surprise really. HTPC's are basically standard pc's in a special case, Antec produces a few different designs. We are going to look at their Fusion Remote Max today. We will find out if it has what it takes to survive in the living room.

Antec Fusion Remote Max
I have to say, I am quite impressed with the Antec Fusion Remote Max. This case has very well-built with ample of space for even the largest hardware components. Despite the fact it is designed for HTPC use, I wouldn?t be surprised to find enthusiasts using this case for their gaming machines as well. Since it has plenty of space for all of the high-end components, it would be a perfect system for those who wish to have a single computer for both HTPC and gaming. The three chamber design works quite well in terms of cable management and facilitating the installation process. The two included 120mm fans do keep the components running cool, but in order to achieve the best cooling, users may have to suffer a bit of a higher noise-level. I personally would suggest keep the fan setting at medium as you would be a reasonable assured of good cooling without much noise-level. The biggest issue I can see with this case is the HDD installation. Antec really should redesign it slightly to make it easier to install. Although it won?t be a deal-breaker, as most HTPC systems usually do not go through the same frequent removals and installations as a desktop would. Still, a better installation process would have been appreciated. Although the remote control that is included and iMon and iMedian software works fairly well, a this software still cannot replace the Windows Media Center with its clean interface and ease of use. Still they are nice addition to the whole package. Also a minor annoyance is the lack of documentation with the case. The case really should come with a better manual, especially for the power switch cable and with a better guide to HDD installation and fan installation. Antec also should include a better guide for the software and the remote control. Although this is not Antec?s fault, as they did not design the software, it still would be appreciated to have a more detailed guide as to how to use the software. At retail price of $180, this case is priced slightly more expensive (but yet not too expensive) among the high-end HTPC cases. If you are considering the fact that it will accommodate a full ATX motherboard, the biggest graphic cards, and biggest PSU's, standard size expansion cards, and four 3.5?? hard drives, its retail price seems justified. Adding on top of the fact, Antec includes the remote control and the multi-media software for all of your HTPC needs, this would be an excellent choice for those who wish to have an HTPC with gaming in mind. The only thing that I would wish to add to the system is probably a multi-media card reader which could really enhance the case?s functionality. + Plenty of space + Solid built + Adjustable fans + Elegant look + Good cooling performance + Accommodates up to 4 HDDs + Remote and HTPC software included + Supports full height expansion cards and largest graphic cards Cons: - No media reader - HD installation is a hassle - Lack of a good documentation - Software is not as intuitive as Windows Media Center- Fan is a bit loud at high settings Antec Fusion Remote Max will receive a score of 8.5 (very good) out of 10 and Bjorn's Seal of Approval for its excellent build and design. This would be a perfect case for those wish to use their HTPC as a gaming machine for it offers plenty of space for all of your needs.
Antec has recently launched a line of HTPC cases. Their Veris is targeted toward HTPC users with its wide selection of cases in different form factors. Today, we will be looking at their Fusion Remote case, a case that will accomodate ATX motherboard, four 3.5'' drives, and comes with a media center remote. Check it out, it just maybe the best HTPC case out there. [

Antec Fusion Remote Max HTPC case
Case appearance is always subject to personal taste. In our view, the fascia is sleek and beautiful in its lack of clutter. The hinged plexiglas door is a bit prone to picking up dust and fingerprints, but it's a minor quibble. The stealthy optical drive door is effective (it worked without any adjustments of the ODD positioning), and works very smoothly, without any metal clanging despite its metallic exterior.
The long awaited "Son of Fusion" is finally here. It's much bigger than the highly successful Fusion/NSK2400. We dive in to find out how this new Antec case is similar to and different from its predecessor.
